Disclaimer - Terms & Conditions
All Riders taking part on this event must obey the local laws and road regulations and respect other road users.
Riders breaking these laws will be accountable to the local authorities should they be caught breaking those laws
and are solely responsible for the consequences. Riders should be aware that English is the first spoken language on this event.
Riders & machine/s must be in good health & road worthy. The tour organisers and their agents accept no responsibility
for loss or damage to participants personal belongings.

Section 1

Event information

Depending which event you have chosen and if there are organised guided tours
during the tour week (weather permitting) participants have the choice to join a organised tour with a guide
or ride out on their own tours without a guide. Organisers of guided tours and the tour leaders
cannot not be held responsible for riders who get lost or suffer an accident or injury
due to a rider’s negligence and if any third parties are involved.
Riders are asked to return to base in time for the evening meal each day.
*Supplementary charges for Ferry’s, train’s, tunnel's, road and bridge tolls,
increased accommodation fees and/or extra food/beverage charges are paid for by the participant.
*These charges are not included in the general tour fee.
Section 2

Accommodation

Subject to availability. Double or single rooms en suite.
Riders changing their reservation will be subject to a
100 Swiss franc/ 80 Euro handling charge and this depends on availability at the Hotel or Base-Camp.

Section 3

Motorcycles

The event organisers do not organize or provide motorcycles for participants.
The tour is open to any kind of motorcycle.

Participants machines must be road worthy before coming on this event

Alpine Touring Is Demanding on all Machines ! Do Not arrive On Tour With:-
 Worn Out Tyres - Worn Out Brake Pads - Worn Out Brake Fluid - Worn Out Engine Oil - Worn Out Battery !

For participants and other road user’s safety, a daily control of all machines will be made.
If a participants machine is not of a standard to be considered road worthy by the event organiser,
then the participant will be asked to replace worn out material immediately before continuing on any organised daily tour.

The event organisation cannot be held responsible for any participant’s negligence
or defects on their machines incurred before, during, or after the tour.
Special modifications, ordering new or used replacement parts are the sole responsibility of the
 rider participant and to keep their machines up to a safe and road worthy standard.

The tour organisation and its agents cannot be held responsible
 or finance any motorcycle parts or mechanical work fees incurred on behalf of the participant before, during or after the tour.

Section 4

Tour Fees - Cancellations - Annulation's - Refunds
 
To secure a place on any tour requires an immediate deposit to secure the reservation. Details on website.

Payment must be made within 10 bank working days
(Monday to Friday) after receipt of participants e-mail reservation.
 Final balance of payment is required two months before the starting date of the tour.

Late reservations received within 30 days of a tour start must pay the full
tour price immediately to secure that reservation.
Method of payment by direct bank IBAN transfer or by Registered Post.
Account and address will be shown on the website.

Participants cancellations by signed letter only, post dated, received 30 days
before a tour start will be subjected to a 100 Swiss Franc / 80 Euro Per person handling fee.

Participants cancellations, by signed letter only, post dated, received 15 days
before a tour start will be subjected to a 150 Swiss Franc / 120 Euro Per person handling fee.

Participants cancellations, made with less than 7 days before a tour start,
or participant failure to attend a tour will result in complete loss of participation fee.

Riders that have started a tour and can no longer continue due to:-
 mechanical breakdown, illness, accident, private reasons will not receive a refund.

When a tour has started and is cut short or interrupted and can no longer continue
with the advertised tour itinerary due to reasons outside the control of the tour organisation,
for example, in the case of force major such as forest fires, floods, earthquakes,
avalanche, military intervention, strikes etc, then the tour will be declared as annulled.
In these cases all participants reservations become invalid, with 100% loss of participation fee.
No refunds will be made.

 Tour organisers reserve the right to cancel whole tours in advance of a tour starting date.
In this case any tour reservation fees that have been paid by participants will be refunded.
A handling charge of 150 Swiss francs /120 Euro per booking will be deducted from those fees.
 Refunds will be made directly to participant’s bank accounts.

Tour Information

Guided Tour Line Up
 Sidecar outfits are placed directly behind tour leaders. Trailers are not required on the daily tours unless the base camp is being changed.

Swiss Motor way VIGNETTE

Price CHF. 40.--
Compulsory for all users of Swiss motor way's.
Valid for one year.

Trailers:
DO NOT NEED A VIGNETTE.
 Full information on Swiss motorway vignettes is available HERE section H4 - although it is in French.

NB: A vignette is advisable on some tours due to tour distance either departing to or returning from far located points on route. Or in the case of bad weather or route deviation. Blocked roads, landslides, avalanches etc.

Languages
English is the main spoken language on SAT Tour, although the tour organisation can help with German, and French. Many of the participants also speak more than one language, so if you don't, then ask for assistance.

Video's
Participants wishing to shoot video films or take photographs are requested not to film or photograph by driving up and down a moving group when on tour. "It is dangerous". Please arrange to do your filming from a suitable vantage point. Ask your tour leader where the best places may be, to shoot your film from on the route, in advance.

Fuel.
All participants must have full tanks before the start of a day's excursion. Should there be a long tour, refuelling will take place at a convenient place.

 Breakdown / Accident
The Tour Guide has the responsibility to help by stranded machines. In the case of a Guide falling out of the group, the next in line will assist in helping out

CB's
These units are in fact really useful when time and distance play a factor in solving problems. The CB is not only a very practical instrument to have in situations as mentioned above, but can also be very entertaining. If you have one, please see that it is in working order for the tour.

Clothing Tip
The obvious to be said here - Do take warm clothes and your waterproofs with you each day. Mountain weather is noted for changing very quickly, and especially at altitude.

Meal Times
Depending on what kind of tour you have chosen then there may be breakfast and evening meal included on the SAT Tour your on. Lunch time is always up to the participant and once again depending on the tour your on the tour guide will stop for lunch at the most convenient place on route. This being where restaurant and/or snack facilities are available. Participants who wish to be more independent are advise to take a packed lunch or pick nick with them for the days tour.

Shopping
Switzerland has a wide range and many different variety's of food and beverage available. Supermarkets are an obvious choice. Bread, soft drinks, and cigarettes are all relatively cheaper than in other European countries although meat and some dairy products are expensive. Please ask if you are not sure.

 

Suggested General Group Riding Formations
1: STAGGERED FORMATION. The leader rides just left (or right in the UK) of the centre lane markings. The next rider takes position right of the leader and 1 second behind. All other riders alternate down the riding column with the same distance between each machine. Keep a safe distance between machines but remain alert for slower riders so that contact is not lost with the machine behind.
2: Once riding in this formation NEVER break IN or OUT of the formation, except in an emergency. In that (and every) case, the rider should clearly signal their intentions to the other surrounding riders. If a rider wants to take a new position in the group, then they should wait until the next stop.
3: Every rider MUST obey ALL traffic laws. Each rider is fully responsible for his behaviour on the road, independent of tour guides.
4: Even on a controlled ride, a rider should not assume that he has priority. In doubt, show caution. It is better to hold up other riders than to kill yourself or others. Riders on the outside of the formation should watch their outside mirrors for others overtaking. Here riders should indicate, and move a little inside to give the overtaking vehicle more space. They then return to their position.
5:

Always start the run with full fuel tanks. Running out of fuel on a tour and pulling into a garage causes delays for the whole group.
At a planned fuel stop, everyone fills up.
